  • Mô tả: This chapter highlights the patterns of recovery and asserts that patients do not always lose the use of the languages that they speak before insult to the same extent, nor do they necessarily regain access to them simultaneously. One language may be recovered better than the other, irrespective of the relative degree of premorbid proficiency. Various combination of languages may simultaneously exhibit different patterns or the pattern that may change over time. The chapter also discusses the anecdotal evidences for selected aphasia that can possibly be found in some cases cited by Pitres. Along with these, three cases of differential aphasia have also been described in the chapter. Researchers are becoming aware of the omnipresence of bilingualism. Most of the relevant questions have been identified and as a result, clinicians and researchers know what has to be looked for.
