  • Mô tả: In an interview, Henry Chesbrough, writer, talked about the evolution of open innovation and his latest work. His interest was prompted by a few observations. First, when he talked about open innovation, he got a lot of questions from service businesses. His earlier work in open innovation really focused on hightech companies making products and technologies. It was not entirely clear what it meant for services, which are intangible and are not well tracked in the accounting system. Opening up your innovation processes requires more sharing of previously internal tools, resources, and processes to outsiders. One of the things that Amazon did (to open up their innovation process), although it took years of struggle to get to where they are today, is to open up their APIs so that third-party vendors can display their merchandise on Amazon's site in a way that looks to the user just like Amazon. Openness does two really important things in a services context.
