  • Mô tả: On Apr 16, 1882, at a meeting in Hermannstadt, an important predominantly German-speaking provincial town in the far southeastern corner of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, a resolution was agreed upon by the Transylvanian Saxon participants. The meeting was part of a series of demonstrations held across Hungary both for and against the acceptance of aid from the recently formed Allgemeiner Deutscher Schulverein (ADS) based in Berlin. One month later, amidst similar demonstrations in the village of Heltau, located five miles south-west of Hermannstadt, the sentiments were similar. After agreeing to accept aid from the ADS, one of the prominent speakers, Dr Ziegler, reiterated that the Transylvanian Saxons were not against the Hungarian state.
