  • Mô tả: In the Smaala area, Paleozoic rocks crop out and are structured by the Hercynian orogeny. The hydrographic network is dense and displays various flow directions. It consists of temporary streams that eventually lead to the Grou river. Analysis of the Landsat TM satellite image can extract lineament network. The majority of these lineaments coincide with geological fractures identified on the field. Their distribution is organized around four major directions: NE-SW, N-S, NW-SE and E-W. The comparison of the statistics of the hydrographic network with those of lineaments shows that the majority of rivers are affected by geological structures, especially the fracturing. The topography of the area also has a secondary impact on the water circulation, by the presence of slopes generally oriented North-West and North. Dans la region de Smaala, affleure des terrains d'age paleozoique qui sont structures lors de l'orogenese hercynienne. Le reseau hydrographique est dense et montre des directions d'ecoulement variees. Il est constitue d'un ensemble de cours d'eau temporaires qui finissent par aboutir a l'oued Grou. L'analyse de l'image satellitaire Landsat TM permet d'extraire le reseau de lineaments. La majorite de ces lineaments coincide avec les fractures geologiques reperees sur le terrain. Leur distribution s'organise autour de quatre directions majeures: NE-SW, N-S, NW-SE et E-W. La confrontation des donnees statistiques du reseau hydrographique avec celles des lineaments montre que la majorite des cours d'eau sont influences par les structures geologiques, notamment la fracturation. La topographie de la region possede aussi un impact secondaire sur les ecoulements, par la presence de pentes generalement orientees vers le NordOuest et le Nord.
